The Bitter Season by Tami Hoag
Kovac & Liska #6
I like the mystery and suspense of Tami Hoag’s books, but sometimes they are just too gorey. Like this one. And lots of language. I read it for a book club, but it will be awhile before I read another one. It just made me feel… icky. I should have waited for the Reader’s Digest version. But if you don’t mind that, the plot is pretty good and twisty.
Cops Kovac and Liska are working two unrelated cases, 25 years apart. You know they’re going to connect at some point, but when they do—amazing! I had part of it figured out, but not all of it. Characters were great. Writing was awesome. Plot… wonderful. My stars are based on this part of the book. I’m still trying to pretend I don’t want to wash my brain out with soap.
3 1/2 stars.
