The Rules in Rome by A.L. Sowards
World War 2 historical, with a dash of romance. I was totally absorbed, having several moments with a knot in my stomach and a lump in my throat.
The plot took historical events and wove a unique story about courageous individuals fighting the Nazis—and paying the price.
The romance is clean, and although it deals with the ravages of war without pulling any punches, it doesn’t cross the line into sensationalism or gratuitous violence.
