While they may be cracker-jack agents, this small Mormon community has them flummoxed until Ida Mae and her friends (from the Secret Sisters series) step in to give them Mormon lessons so they won’t blow their cover.
Compared to that, bringing down the Mafia will be a tiptoe through the tulips.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
I was a little sad when the Secret Sisters series ended. I just loved Ida Mae, Arlette and Tansy. So I was excited to hear that they would be making guest appearances in this new Omni Orchids series!
Tulips and Treason starts off with Jack and Molly, married FBI agents, who are having marital problems. They have decided to call their marriage quits, when they are given an undercover assignment posing as a married couple in the tiny town of Omni, Utah. As much as I would hate living in that situation, it does make for a lot of awkward and funny situations.
Add to that, they have to pretend to be Mormons. That was hilarious at times. Good thing Ida Mae was there to coach them along.
The plot was just what I want in a cozy mystery—a dead body, but not any gore. Some suspense and danger to keep you reading. A mystery to solve with lots of red herrings. And a good laugh at regular intervals. As for the whodunit part, I had my suspicions early on, but then I kept second guessing myself. When it was all resolved, I was content.
Tristi is a delightful cozy mystery writer and I was not one bit disappointed with Tulips and Treason. I can’t wait for the next one to come out!
